Digital Printing
No Minimum Order Packaging Printing to Build Your Brand with Digital Printing
For small business owners and SMEs starting a business in food or consumer products that require flexible packaging for their products, digital printing is an ideal solution. This includes packaging such as foil pouches for sauces or liquid foods, coffee bags for ground coffee or drip coffee, stand-up pouches, zip-lock bags for food, snack packaging, cereal bags, supplement packaging, and cosmetic sachets such as cream, lotion, spout pouches, tester sachets, and sample sachets.
Because many new entrepreneurs have limited production budgets, they often face challenges related to packaging cost and minimum order quantity. In many cases, they want to print a small quantity first for market testing. As a result, many business owners are looking for a packaging manufacturer that can produce bags and pouches with no minimum order requirement to support early-stage market entry more effectively.
“Digital Printing is the right packaging solution for small business owners.”
TPBI Public Company Limited has developed its digital printing service under the Flexible PRO brand to better support modern brands and evolving packaging needs. Digital printing allows packaging to be produced with no minimum order quantity or in the exact quantity required through a print-on-demand system. For example, if a brand wants to test 10 different product variants, traditional printing will require 10 separate printing plates or multiple production runs. With digital printing, all 10 designs can be printed in a single order, making it a faster, more flexible, and more efficient solution for modern brand owners.
Production Standards
In addition, TPBI’s digital printing production standards are suitable for food packaging and comply with recognized manufacturing standards such as BRC-IOP, GMP, HACCP, and ISO 22000.

What Is Digital Packaging Printing?

For entrepreneurs who need low-volume printing or print-on-demand packaging, digital packaging printing is a process in which the printer is directly connected to a computer and prints directly from the file, without the need to create printing plates beforehand. This is different from offset printing.
TPBI produces high-quality printed packaging using the HP Indigo 20000 Digital Press, which supports no-minimum-order digital printing while delivering print quality comparable to offset printing. It can also print on a wide range of materials, especially flexible packaging for food and consumer goods such as foil pouches, zip-lock bags for food and household products, snack bags, cream sachets, sample sachets, coffee bags, and insulated foil bags.
HP Digital Print Excellence Awards 2020
TPBI also received the HP Digital Print Excellence Awards 2020 in the Flexible Packaging category.
Which Should You Choose: Digital Printing or Offset Printing?

For both small entrepreneurs starting a business and larger manufacturers using flexible packaging across different industries, it is common to wonder whether digital printing or offset printing is more suitable for their packaging needs. TPBI summarizes the key differences as follows:
Digital Printing
- Suitable for SMEs and new business owners with limited budgets who want to build a brand and test the market first.
- No color block or printing plate cost.
- Finished production can typically be completed within 7–10 days after artwork approval.
- Supports up to 7 colors, with color control managed digitally from the design file and adjustable beyond standard Pantone matching.
- Offers excellent print quality, better quality control, and greater design flexibility.
Offset Printing
- Suitable for high-volume printing.
- Require color block and printing plate costs.
- It requires approximately one week to prepare the printing plates before production.
- Support around 9–12 colors, with color mixing handled manually by skilled operators to achieve the desired shade.
- Design is more limited due to restrictions such as plate repeat length, pitch distance, and number of printable colors.

Types of Flexible Packaging That Can Be Produced by Digital Printing

3-Side-Sealed Pouch
Suitable for products with small volume and light weight, since the pouch has no side gusset or bottom gusset. Commonly used for powdered products and cosmetic packaging such as cream sachets, lotion sachets, spout sachets, sample sachets, and tester sachets. This format can also be die-cut into different shapes.

4-Side-Sealed Pouch
Suitable for relatively heavier products such as coffee bags, snack pouches, seasoning sachets, food packaging, supplement packaging, and packaging for dishwashing liquids or household cleaners.

Stand-Up Pouch
Ideal for products that need strong shelf presence and an attractive display. This pouch format is sturdy, resists collapsing, and can be produced with or without a zipper. A zipper can help preserve the product after opening and extend usability.

Spout Pouch
Ideal for products that need strong shelf presence and an attractive display. This pouch format is sturdy, resists collapsing, and can be produced with or without a zipper. A zipper can help preserve the product after opening and extend usability.

Center-Sealed Pouch
Also commonly known as a pillow pouch, this format is widely used for crispy snacks, drip coffee, tea, supplements, and certain daily-use products such as soap bars and face mask packaging. It is not generally recommended for liquid products due to leakage risk, and it is not suitable for zip-lock closure, so it must be sealed in the standard way.

Die-Cut Pouch
This pouch type, also known as a die-cut pouch, is commonly used for cream tester sachets, market testing, or small production runs. It can be printed and cut into custom shapes based on customer requirements, although there will be additional mold cost for die-cut production.

Roll Film
Suitable for manufacturers that already have automatic form-fill-seal machinery. This format is especially appropriate for small-size packaging.

Easy Peel Film
A lidding film used to seal ready-to-eat food trays. It is suitable for food businesses involved in ready-to-eat products.
