Leadership

Amna Osman, MPA 

Chief Executive Officer

Amna has 24 years of experience as a public health innovator and executive leader, with an extensive background in all aspects of leadership and management. Prior to her current role, she was President and CEO at HAVEN, a domestic and sexual violence nonprofit in the Greater Detroit Area. She is Founder and President of Osman Consulting in Grand Blanc, Michigan, where she provided leadership development both in the U.S. and overseas. Amna served as the Director of the Division of Health, Wellness, and Disease Control for Michigan Department of Community Health, where she oversaw the division which covers Health Disparities Reduction/Minority Health, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, HIV/AIDS Prevention Education, Care and Treatment, as well as the AIDS Drug Assistance Program and HIV/AIDS Oral Health Program.

 

Terrance Bond, J.D.

Board President

Terrance currently serves as Senior Counsel for HCA Healthcare, where he leads a specialized team seeking to recover denied insurance claims across all HCA affiliate markets. Previously, he was a Division Counsel at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Before joining Vanderbilt, Terrance was Compliance Counsel at The Law Offices of Barry J. Gammons, PLLC., where he developed, implemented and monitored internal and external compliance-facing functions for the firm’s consumer account portfolio. Terrance also served as Assistant General Counsel within the Regulatory Boards Division of the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance. Prior to his election and since 2020, Terrance has served as an at-large Board member and Chair of CARES’ Public Policy and Advocacy Committee.

 

Kassem Bourgi, M.D.

Medical Director

With an MD from the American University of Beirut and extensive training in Infectious Diseases from Vanderbilt University, Kassem has honed a patient-centric approach to healthcare, clinical research and medical education serving diverse populations. He is deeply committed to advancing HIV treatment and public health, and has directed multiple funded HIV research projects, including serving as a Primary Investigator for several industry-funded clinical trials. His expertise encompasses spearheading local, regional and national HIV educational initiatives, along with providing training and medical education for students, residents and fellows. Kassem has been invited to speak and share his research findings at several national and international HIV conferences.

 

Angela Murray, CPA

Chief Financial and Administrative Officer

Angela plays a critical role in keeping our organization’s mission and budget closely aligned. She also serves as an advisor to leadership on issues of financial strategy and stewardship while leading the Finance, Insurance Assistance Program and Facilities departments. Angela brings a wealth of strategic financial and analytical experience to the team. She’s an expert in financial modeling and forecasting, and in designing internal controls and accounting processes to consistently provide accurate and relevant financial information. She joined CARES in 2022 after working as Chief Financial Officer at a regional restaurant brand. She previously served as Vice President and Controller at United Way of Greater Nashville. A Tennessee native, Angela earned her BBA with an emphasis in Accounting from University of Memphis. She’s been an active Certified Public Accountant since 1993.

 

Jessica Hoke, MSW

Chief Operating Officer

Jessica is a recognized leader in developing health systems that reduce barriers to life-saving care. She’s been part of the CARES team for more than two decades, with 24 years of dedicated service in the HIV field. After first joining us as an intern, she advanced through a wide range of roles. This gives her a unique understanding of our full range of programs and services. Jessica is a past president of the Tennessee chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), and currently serves on the board of the Professional Association of HIV Social Workers. She’s also part of the Community HIV/AIDS Partnership leadership and a member of the Nashville End HIV Advisory Council. Jessica earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Tennessee, where she now teaches Social Welfare Policy and serves as a field practice liaison. She’s been our COO since 2021.
